While the Niagara wine region gets the bulk of the press when it comes to Ontario’s wines, there’s another hidden gem when it comes to great wine appellation. At the eastern end of Lake Ontario at a latitude of 44°N, lies Ontario’s most northern growing region, in the Township of Hillier Ontario, Prince Edward County. The area relies on the lake to provide a moderated cool climate growing season.
Of course BC’s wine region is very well known too. Overall Canada produces some of the finest wines in the world and many are sought after beyond our borders.
